I think Singaporeans should be indentified as "Singaporeans" as they are still Singaporeans. I think it is a bit racist if you judge them just by their religion or skin colour. They are still Simgaporeans. As Singporeans, we should treat them equally. Although they may have different cultures, religions and skin colour compared to us Chinese, it dosen't mean we can bully them or criticize them. If we were in their shoes, we would also be sad and hurt. So I think singaporeans should treat each other equally even if they have different skin colour or cultures.

I nk Singaporeans should be identified as Singaporeans as sometimes that might be confusion bewteen races.People from different races may marry each other and may give birth to a child that is halfly of one race.Maybe,a chinese's skin colour may resembles the malays one like my friend. It will be better to be identified as singaporeans.

They should be indentified as singaporeans. They are born in Singapore, even if they are Tamil,Malay,Chinese... They are still singaporeans... And if we identified them by races, it is a little racist. When they are different races, they still play a part as a Singaporeans. And it will be unique as other countries are identified by races but Singapore is a unique country.

I think that Singapore should not just be identified as just 'Singaporeans'.They should be sometimes be identified by their races. If Singaporeans are just identified as 'Singaporeans',those who are for example Malay or Indian, they would soon lose their heritage, their culture.Singapore would not be known as the multiracial country as we are just identify Singaporeans as 'Singaporeans'.We may not be able to learn about the culture of other people of other races like, what they eat and how they celebrate their festival.

i think all singaporeans living in Singapore are should not be judged by their races because all of them are helping to protect singapore so we should not be racist and treat them like the rest of the people of singapore and dont look down on others as they should be treated fairly so that we can be united as one and live in harmony

Singapore is made up of different race like malays, indian, chinese and many more.So i find that singapore should be identified by thier race. that the reason why we celebrate Racial Harmony day. If people with different races are called singaporean, there is no point of celebrating it. I think that we should consider other people decision whether to be called singaporean or not. But i considered myself as a chinese. So therefore we must be considerate to other people. [ P.S i think this is the only journal essay that i never start with well]

I think that Singaporeans should be identified as Singaporeans instead of their races. We should only be identified by our races if we want to count how many people in each race, but apart from that,I think that people in Singapore should be identified as Singaporeans rather than their races. If we are identified by our races, this might lead to people being racist. We should not treat the whites better than the blacks,or treat the blacks better than the whites.By doing so we are looking down on the people,I find it very offensive as people should not be like this.Racism should not be allowed in Singapore. We should be a multi racial country.I believe that no one in Singapore would want to be treated badly and differently just because of their race,it would be very unfair,so if we do not want people to be racist to us,we should not be racist to them because we are all the same. 6 Resilience

Singaporeans should just be identified as 'singaporeans' as we are in an multi-racial country. As long as we are born in Singapoe, we are considered as Singaporeans. Just as singaporeans,in other words,as one nation. If we are identified by our races then racism and we would start a riot like in the past and all that we have build up till now would just be wasted because we would fight for land and the kids growing up will see an unecessary violence and the racist comments will be inherited by them and singapore may turn into a warzone.

I think that Singaporeans should be identified as "Singaporeans",because if a malay is identified by their race, they think that the malay is a Malaysian.
When some people address us as "Singaporeans" it would be more appropriate.
However,if we are identified as races, people will respect our race when go on a holiday.

in my opinion, they should actually be identified by their racesall singaporeans have different races like malays, indians, chinese and many more.it would not be nice if singapore has only 1 race.To respect their desisions,we should let them choose what they want to be called as.That is why we celebrate international friendship dayit is where we get to know more friends from other races.in schools, anywhere,we get to see many different people from different races.having friends from all over the world is very rare.not everybody has friends like that.lets do our part and make a change!we can make the world a better place!

I think Singaporeans should be identified as 'Singaporeans' because we all live in the same country. If we call people by their races we will sound abit racist. We should only identify people by their races only when other people ask us what are the races of people living in Singapore. Like the Social Studies textbook said "Singapore is a multi-racial country." Regardless of race or religion we,we should treat each otherpeople with respect. Venus(6 resilience)

I think that Singaporeans should just be identified as 'Singaporeans'.If we identify people by their races, people in other countries will think that we Singaporeans are rasist and disrespectful to other races.I too find it quite rude. That might spoil the reputation of the country and its people. If that is so,the Singapore pledge"Regardless of race, language or religion. To build a democratic society based on justice and equality" might not be followed by the people of different races. It is as good as empty words/promise,so as the saying goes"actions speak louder than words".We can only use our actions to prove to others that we're one democratic society, one Singapore.

I think Singaporeans should be called as Singaporeans. The multi-racial social makeup results in other races differenciate people by their races.Last time in America there was seperate bus for th black and white people because the people did not stop the rasit thing long time ago.So we must stop this thing now or it would be even worst than the Americans. There would be even sperate places for the different races.

I think singaporeans should be identified as singaporeans and not by their races. If singaporeans are addressed by their races, it is not only rude, but also discrimination as well. All singaporeans should ge treated with equal respect regardless of their races just like what we say in our singapore pledge. We must not be biased too. Instead, we should befriend one another to make singapore a non-racist discrimination country and shall be proud of it as it shows that singaporeans are kind people.

I think Singaporeans should be identified just as "Singaporeans" as we should never judge people from their races. If Singaporeans were identified by their races, there would be no point in coming together and celebrate Racial Harmony Day because people who are Malay would only know Malays and people who are Chinese would only make friends with Chinese. If we were to judge people by their skin colour, culture, heritage or the language that they speak, they would feel left out and hurt. This would prevent racism among every Singaporeans. Everyone would like to know another culture or have a friend which is of another race. Preventing racism would prevent riots from happening like what used to happen in the USA where people were categorised by their skin colours. Singapore would also build a stronger bond with other countries of different culture, heritage, skin colour or race.
