This year's theme, "I will", for Total Defence Day helps to kick start the effort to go green and I pledge to recycle as much waste as possible It can be achieved by avoiding the use of disposables such as styrofoam boxes and plastic bottles.
My parents have been good role models in showing me how to recycle household stuff. They save rainwater to water the plants and wash the family car. As for me, I recycled waste paper by using the blank sides. I also cut down on the use of paper plates and plastic cups. Old newspapers, plastic containers, glass bottles and aluminium cans are also placed in the recycling bins provided at my housing estate.
It is important to spread the message to develop greater environmental awareness among fellow Singaporeans. Everyone has a part to play in going green by recycling their waste. I will do my part and I hope everyone will do the same. Saving the earth is the responsibility of every citizen!

I pledge to protect my country,family and friends.
I will recycle things that can be recycled.Things that can be recycled are:plastic,metal(phones),paper and aluminium.We can also use lunch box to buy food to prevent from using plastic bags.Once my teacher told me that when they had a meeting,they use plastic cup to drink water.I wish that they will not use the plastic cup to drink water anymore to prevent from pollution.But and also to use thier own water bottle to drink water.
I hope that Singapore can continue to be a safe place. Everyone has to play a part in keeping Singapore safe and everyone has to stay alert. Total Defence Day is an important day as it marks the anniversary of the invasion of the Japanese during World War II. Without civil defence, military defence, psychological defence, social defence, and economic defence, Singapore will not be a safe place to live in. No one will visit Singapore as it will be a dangerous place to go to. The whole country will not be defended at all and we will be vulnerable to terrorists and other countries.
I pledge that everyone will try their best to save the earth.One example is instead of asking your parents to come and pick you , you can walk home carefully.And this is already helping the earth by not causing pollution to the environment.And we should also ask our mother to pack lunch boxes because theese can also cause litter to the environment.And lastly we can also help the earth by recycling.

Anyway i also believe that there is such thing thanks to little red dot for telling us the news.My mother wanted me to save money so she asked me stop taking pocket money but i don't care now i know how importanat it is so from now on i will start to use lunch boxes

Lunchboxes to save the Earth
We can use lunchboxes to save the earth.the luchboxes we use is to put food.After we eat finish the food,the next day we can use it again and again.aviod using disposables such as plastic,styrofoam or paper plates,cups and cutlery because after you use it you must throw it away because they cannot be use again.recycle as much as your waste as possible.Observe how much waste you produce in a week and try to reduce it by ten per cent.

I will pledge to keep the environment clean. You can help by using both sides of the paper. I can help save water by turning off the tap when i am soaping myself during a bath or when i am brushing my teeth.
I will save the earth by taking the MRT or public buses. I will turn off the lights in my room and house before leaving for school. Likewise, I will switch off the lights and fans in my classroom before going for recess.
When I use a lunch box to pack my lunch, I reduce the use of plastic bags. I can also reuse my lunch box. This will help to reduce the amount of pollution on earth. It will also help to cultivate good habits. Younger children will also be aware of the three "R"s - reduce, reuse and recycle. Disposable materials such as plastic forks, spoons, plates and bags are not biodegradable. They cannot be broken down. They are really bad to the earth. I can help the earth by using less plastic. I will play my part to keep Singapore clean by recycling, reusing and reducing. I hope the earth will stay clean forever.

Now I understand how a lunch box can save the earth.But some people don't care,they get new lunch boxes and just throw it away a few days later.Hope no one does that.I think they should use metal lunch boxes,like my metal water bottle I've been using it for one year.Sometimes lunch boxes can kill the earth.

To make the Earth a better Society to live in is to recycle more, never destroy the nature, never litter, plant more trees and also defend Singapore. We should recycle more so that we can reduce the number of papers that we are wasting, we should never destroy the nature so that we will have more shade, we should never litter so that our planet don’t smell in the river, we should also plant more trees so that it will not be very hot for us to stay. We must do all these so that the Earth will not be destroyed.
For Total Defence Day, I would defend my country and protect everybody in my country. I would help people when they are in danger and help them when they need help. I would take pails of water when the fire has started. I would not litter and throw things into the 3 recycling bins which are for plastic bottles, paper and glass. I can save the earth by recycling paper, plastic and rubber. Recycling is through a process called reuse, reduce and recycle. Reuse means that you can reuse the item you used before. Reduce means to make trash lesser, so that we can save the earth. And lastly, recycle means that those paper, plastic and rubber that cannot be use can be recycled and made to new things that you can use. Let us all stop global warming together and help those poor people
I think it is good way to save the earth by using lunchboxes. We could also play our part by recycling items, like paper, plastic bags, newspapers and more. I think Total Dfece day is to commemorate the ending of world war 2. when the japenese surrended and they signed the agreement. And maybe it is to also to commemorate when singapore became independant on the year 1965.
