Over the years, I have offered my seats to the elderly and pregnant women in the buses or trains. When I see that no one is giving up seats to the elderly, I would feel extremely angry and disappointed. The people on board will either pretend to sleep or look at other places.
Last year when I was in Japan for holidays, I had a very good impression of the country because the people there do not litter even though there are very few dustbins around. When we took the escalator, the people did not litter even though there were very few dustbins around. When we took the escalator, the people were very disciplined as they always keep to the left side of the escalator to allow those who were in a hurry to use the right side. When I took a train at Shinjuku, I gave up my seat to an old lady. She thanked me so profusely that I felt a bit embarrassed. Although I do not understand Japanese, I could feel her praising me. Japanese also do not talk loudly or noisily. I hope Singapore will become a more courteous and gracious society like Japan.
I often eat out at fast food outlets. However, whenever I got a table, the leftovers tend to be very messy. I hope people will be kinder and more considerate as to clear the leftovers and place them in the bins. We must treat everyone with politeness. A word of kindness goes a very long way!

Singapore has launched a number of courtesy campaigns over the years to encourage young children to show graciousness and kindness. It has really a great effect on some of our friends. I could see that some of our friends are behaving in a better manner.
When I was in Primary Three, there was a friend of mine who was very close to her best friend. She was hurt and lonely when her best friend shockingly abandoned her and snatched all her friends. I was afraid that she would be emotionally hurt so I decided to help her win back her former friends. I was happy to see her laughing again with her friends.
Humans are not always perfect. We make mistakes and cheat in the name of greediness to win. But, that does not mean we should give up being kind to others and show graciousness. We still need to do our best to be good students with sound values. If you have done something bad in the past, think and promise yourself that you will not do that again. Start by being a well-mannered pupil first. Who knows, people in different places in the world would be surprised and encouraged by your simple gesture of kindness, graciousness, respect, compassion and generosity wherever you go!

Our school values Integrity,Adaptability, Respect Graciousness,Resilience and Compasion are part of kindness...I think. WE must respect our parents, friends, siblings, cousins and even the non-living things... ooops I forgot to mention teachers! haha. We must help the ones who are in need. Wen Kai 4H BTPS
I respect my friends and helped them when they are in trouble. I am compassionate because I helped the elderly carry heavy items. In school, I am gracious because I put back the library books in their original place after reading them.

Singapore is nothing without compassion, graciousness and respect and I think that our school shows this 3 values. School is not only about education but also about being compassionate to others in need, showing respect to our teachers and being gracious to our friends. This is my way of playing a part for supporting Singapore's courtesy campaigns to be a more gracious society.

Sometimes when I take the MRT train, I give my seat to those who need it more.
I say "please" and "thank you" when I want something.
I am respectful to people around me (my teachers, parents and grandparents)
I help to look after my baby cousin.
I help my grandmother by getting her drinks.
i respected all the teachers in school
When my parents and my friends need help,I will show compassion by helping them. All of us must respect our seniors so they will also respect us.I show graciousness by greeting people when I see them. This is how I show these 3 values. by:Ryan Chong class:4F January 19.2010 10.00PM

Our 3 most important school values, graciousness, respect and compassion. Firstly graciosness,we can help by donating things or money to people in need. Second of all, we must show respect to our enviroment, parents, teachers, elderly and ourselves.

To make the world a graciouness society to live in is to respect, having compassion and have graciousness in you.we must thank the person doing a good deed,we must show respect to people around us,staffs, parents and friends.we should help our parents doing chores for them.

i show the 3 values by greeting people when i see them, say please and thank you when i want something and help my friends when they need help.
Tourists are one thing that will decide if singapore is a gracious country, or clean and green! Well, citizens are another thing. If they show respect to the tourists, then they will feedback positive things like 'best' in compassion or respect. We, as children MUST be gracious to our friends and teachers. Compassion too. Even respect.. BUT the THING is, do SINGAPOREANS give seats to the elderly? NO. they give an expression like ' i mind my own business, u mind yours' kind of thing. I never saw a person give up their seat to others! So we must show the three values to the other countries to show that we are one GRACIOUS Singapore.

I must repect my parents, teachers and grandparents. I must show kindness to others by saying 'thank you', 'please', 'excuse me' and ' sorry'. I must show compassion like giving donations to less fortunate.I must also show graciousness by giving seats to elderly in a public transport.

Our school shows compassion, graciousness and respect. I show compassion to my friends, I respect my teachers and I show graciousness to everyone
It is always great to help the people around you for example when you walk throgh the door, hold the door for the people behind you. If your techer is carrying a bunch o books, offer your help. Just little things like that can show compassion, graciousness and respect.

One of our importat school value in BTPS is respect. Respect must to be kind towards others. No matter whether it is our parent, teachers or anyone that we know.
We must always respect anyone.
Another thing you could do to show respect is to raise your hand if you want to answer a question.Or if you need anything urgent just say "Please" and when you are done just say "thank you"

Respect: We must respect people such as our parents, teachers, elderly, siblings, cousins and everybody who are older than you.
Jung Han(4Charity)
Graciousness: We must give up our seat to people like, the elderly, handicaps, pregnant women and all the people who need it on public buses. We also need to queue up for food in the school canteen, coffee shop and hawker centre.
Jung Han(4Charity)
Compassion:We must donate kinds like, bicycle, toys, food, books, clothes and pants to the less fortunate through the Salvation Army. We must not look down on them but encourage them to work hard and earn more money. We should also encourage people to give away things to the Salvation Army.

I respect people so that I can see peoples cheery smiles to make Singapore a better place to live.I am sure as i am growing up, Singapore is having more and more kind people.hooray!I have PLAY MY PART WELL! We all need to have resilience, compassion, graciousness, respect, adaptability, integrity and do not forget love. We can show people around us that we have all of those kindness. For example, we help our parents at home to do house chores, such as sweeping and dust our study table. Being nice, polite and thoughtful to our family, siblings, friends, principle, teachers and people around us. Jessica 4Hope BTPS
In my daily life, courtesy means a lot of respect and kindness act.In school,I respect my teachers just like my parents at home and all the students are just like my brothers and sisters. If I did something wrong, usually I will say sorry and admit my mistake.I think it is important to apologise as it is also a kind of a good manner if you have done something wrong to someone.

I believe that it is important for kids like me to learn to be gracious and compassionate and respect people. The teachers in BTPS have taught me to understand these values better.I hope to show my family, teachers, friends and others these behaviours.
i help my mum to wash dishes, mop the floor and alot more.i like to help my neighbour to carry things and help them when they need my help,i wish everyone in singapore will be a gracious citizen!!

I show respect to all teaching and non-teaching staff in my school. Iam also a compassionate pupil. I help my teachers to carry books when I see one.

We should lend a helping hand to those in need. When I was in P1, our school asked us to donate to the old folks home. I showed support by buying oatmeal and biscuits for the elderly. This is showing compassion.
I set a good example to my sisters by giving way, giving in, helping people in need and being patient. I also do not spit or litter on the floor. There was once when I was fetching my sister from school, I helped to hold the door open so that others can enter first. It feels great when you help someone. You just feel it when you are doing a good deed. I enjoy helping other people. You should too!
A gracious society is a broad minded society that accepts everyone including people who are special and different in their own ways. No one laughs or makes fun of anybody. Everyone can have their own opinion, are compassionate towards others and take time to say ‘thank you’ and ‘sorry’. Graciousness is also about accepting mistakes and willingness to forgive and forget about the past.
I helped the needy by donating money to them whenever I can. There was once I donated fifty cents to an elderly man who was playing a song on the keyboard along the pavement. I saw some other people donating too and I thought it was very good. I also help the needy by dropping twenty to eighty cents into the little boxes on statues or the small boxes at MacDonalds.
i think we singaporeans have to be gracious, respectful and compassionate by helping others and help our friends when they are in need.We should repay kindness.WHen i was in Bangkok last year on 9-12 june.I saw lots of pitiful people even worse there were also kids begging on the streets.I asked my dad if i could give some money to them.He said that on 12 june we could give some money to them if we walk past.I really pity these people.
I feel that some Singaporeans don't have graciousnes, kindness, compassion and respect towards others.
Once when I was on a bus, I saw an old lady board the bus with loads of shopping bags and there were no more seats left on the bus. Everyone on the bus ignored the old lady when she was looking for a seat. So I stood up and offered her my seat. She thanked me and I was embarrassed by her gesture.
Some advice; be kind and be considerate also to Mother Earth as global warming spreads.

The value respect is very important. We need to respect our teachers and non-teaching staff by saying'excuse me, please and thank you'. Some Singaporeans does not even show respect and to say bad words and call others names. I hope that evryone should be repectful.

i think singaporeans should be gracious, compassionate and respectful as we are going to work with china for business next time.We should show China that Singapore is a gracious, compassionate and respectful society. It does not mean that if you want to show that you are respectful, compassionate and gracious. You do not show it by your behaviour, you show by your heart.Like what i did yesterday.I saw an old lady carrying lots of plastic bags trying to cross the road,i helped her and she thanked me.There is also once that a blind man who wants to cross the road,i helped him to cross the road and brought him to his doorstep at his house.Tan En Ying 4 Faith

Social studies must be a subject in the classroom. It helps us to be knowledgebale & responsible. Without it we might be ignorant. It makes it compulsory for all the students to know about social issues in our country. It also helps us to go in detail & have a better understanding with project works & team work.
